Where to Charge EV’s in Oklahoma City
Fortunately, the growing popularity of electric cars (EVs) has made it easier than ever to find charging stations. It’s much easier to fuel up than it used to be even if you don’t have a traditional gas car. However, you might still want some guidance when determining the best way to keep your electric car moving.
Eskridge Chevrolet is here to help electric-vehicle drivers like you have the most convenient experience possible. In this guide, we explain where you can charge an electric Chevy in Oklahoma City. Whether you’re a brand new electric-vehicle driver or new to or just passing through the area, you should find this information helpful.
Where To Charge Electric Cars in Oklahoma City

According to PlugShare, Oklahoma City is home to 318 charging stations at establishments ranging from Walmart Supercenter to Whole Foods. Most of the stations are clustered in the center of the city, but you can also find quite a few in the outskirts.
Twenty-four of these stations sprung up in the last 90 days as of August 2022, meaning the area is seeing a continual expansion of the charging station network. However, it’s important to use online tools to determine if a charging station is compatible with your vehicle before driving it. If the connector isn’t compatible, you won’t be able to charge your vehicle and may even be stuck there without a way to get electricity.
For instance, there are 101 stations with J-1772 plugs. These connectors are appropriate for all Chevy vehicles, as they are the standard for all-electric cars in the U.S. and Canada. If you want to accomplish Level 1 or Level 2 charging, a station with J-1772 compatibility should do the trick. If you have a Chevy and want to take advantage of Level 3 charging, you’ll need a station with a Combined Charging System (CCS) connector. This type of plug is compatible with Chevys and supports the requirements of direct-current charging. PlugShare notes that Oklahoma City has 146 CCS plugs.
You’ll also notice stations with CHAdeMO and Supercharger plugs, but these won’t charge your Chevy as they’re only compatible with Japanese makes and Teslas. Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that 31 of the charging stations are free, which can be a great option if you’re looking to fuel up on a budget. Popular charging networks in Oklahoma City include ChargePoint, EV Connect, and Francis Energy. If you happen to leave the area, EV-friendly cities around Oklahoma City include Tulsa, McAlester, and Tahlequah.
Different Connectors at Oklahoma City Charging Stations
We’ve thrown around phrases like J-1772 and CCS, but you might not know what they mean if you’re a new electric-vehicle driver. Both terms refer to types of connectors that electric Chevys use to charge. A J-1772 plug connects to at-home chargers and public Level 1 and Level 2 charging stations, as they all use alternating currents to deliver electricity.
At-home and Level 1 chargers are the most affordable but take the longest to deliver a full charge. Level 2 is moderately priced with average charging times. Level 3, on the other hand, requires a CCS plug. This type of charging uses direct currents to deliver electricity and is the fastest and most expensive type. Level 3 charging is difficult to install in homes because of its high price tag, but some drivers invest in at-home Level 2 charging because of its convenience. It might even increase the resale value of your home.
Average Cost of Charging an Electric Car in Oklahoma City
One source says that the average cost to charge an electric car at a public station in Oklahoma City is anywhere from $0.11 to $0.15 per kilowatt-hour. If you charge the battery using an at-home charger, it’s more affordable. The average rate lowers to around $0.09 per kilowatt-hour if you charge at home because of the fees that public charging stations impose. The initial cost of an at-home charging station will set you back, but the lower per kilowatt-hour rate can save you money in the long run. Regardless, public stations are still affordable and provide convenient on-the-go charging.
Estimated Charging Ranges of Available Chevy Models
The charging range of your Chevy depends on factors like its year, trim level, and condition. For instance, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV get around 247 miles on a full charge. General Motors (GM) estimates that the Blazer EV can get up to 320 miles on a full charge, and the Silverado EV has an impressive 400-mile range on a full charge according to GM. With these numbers, you can drive comfortably knowing it will be a while before you have to stop and fuel up.
Benefits of Electric Cars
If you’re unsure if an electric car is right for you, here are some compelling benefits:
- Warranty: Manufacturers like Chevy recognize the hesitancy to hop on the electric car trend, so they offer warranties to ease consumers’ worries. Chevy electric cars come with a battery and electric component warranty that lasts for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
- Roadside assistance: New Chevy cars come with roadside assistance for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. This added security gives you the peace of mind you deserve.
- Fewer maintenance requirements: Unlike traditional gas cars, electric vehicles have fewer maintenance requirements due to less complex components. These drivers tend to save money and enjoy the convenience of having to take their cars to service centers less often.
- Improved performance: The improved performance of electric cars results in lower fuel costs, fewer carbon emissions, and smoother driving experiences.
As electric vehicles become more popular, they also become more accessible. This observation rings true even in Oklahoma City, where a wide network of public charging stations is available. Ensure the charging station you pick is compatible with your Chevy vehicle before making the drive to it. If you have questions about charging in Oklahoma City or are ready to buy an electric car, contact Eskridge Chevrolet today.

What Fluids Your Car Needs & When To Change Them
If you don’t have an affinity for the mechanical aspects of your car, you may not be aware of all the fluids required for it to operate properly. Read on to review some of the most common fluids your car needs and learn when to change them so you can stay on top of your vehicle’s maintenance.
Windshield Wiper Fluid
Windshield wiper fluid helps you see the road ahead of you. You may experience obscured vision because of mud and dirt streaks without it. You’ll know when your vehicle is low on windshield wiper fluid if it comes out in a weak stream when you attempt to spray it or releases nothing at all. If you suspect that your windshield wiper fluid is getting low, you can check it yourself.
Open your vehicle’s hood and locate a transparent container — it typically contains blue liquid. It should have a label that reads something like “Windshield” or “Washer.” You should be able to screw off the cap to this container easily. If the container is less than a quarter full, you should refill it to avoid running out of windshield wiper fluid at an inconvenient time. Pour a bottle of windshield wiper fluid into the container’s opening. Consider choosing an anti-grime wiper fluid to prevent unwanted buildup on your windshield. Continue pouring until the container is full.
Several factors determine how often you need to change your windshield wiper fluid. For example, if you drive on back roads with muddy conditions, you may need to refill this fluid more frequently. It’s a good idea to check the level every two months to ensure you always have enough windshield wiper fluid.
Engine Oil
Engine oil is arguably one of the most important fluids for your vehicle. It lubricates all the moving parts so your engine can operate efficiently. Allowing your engine oil level to drop below what is safe can result in your engine needing costly repairs.
Before you dive headfirst into changing your engine oil, check the oil level to confirm it requires replenishment. First, turn your car on and drive it for a few minutes. This process will let the engine oil warm up, giving you a more accurate measurement. Then, turn your car off, open the hood, and locate the dipstick and oil cap. If you’re unsure of where these components are, you can find them by consulting the owner’s manual of your vehicle.
Wipe the dipstick with a clean rag and insert it into the oil tank. Remove the dipstick and observe the oil level. Find the notch on the dipstick that indicates a safe oil level. If the level is below this notch, you should replenish your oil or get an oil change.
Getting your oil changed regularly is an important aspect of maintaining your vehicle. You should get an oil change every six months if your car uses conventional oil or every year if it uses synthetic oil. You may consider changing your oil even if it’s at a safe level because engine oil can collect byproducts that may negatively impact your engine’s performance.
While you can change the oil yourself, you may not have the time, patience, or equipment for the job. Instead, bring your vehicle to Eskridge Chevrolet’s service center here in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Our certified service experts can complete any maintenance services your vehicle needs, including oil changes.
Brake Fluid
Brake fluid helps your brake system’s hydraulics work properly. A sufficient brake fluid level ensures that you can make stops safely and avoid dangerous situations on the road. You can find the brake fluid reservoir near the back of your vehicle’s engine compartment. It’s common to replenish or change this fluid once every two years. If your car is in need of a tune-up in this area, click here to see what Eskridge Chevrolet can do to help!
Power Steering Fluid
Power steering fluid keeps your vehicle’s power steering system lubricated. Having sufficient fluid levels enables you to steer smoothly and turn your vehicle. An insufficient power steering fluid level may make your vehicle difficult to operate, as it can cause your steering wheel to shift and vibrate.
To locate the reservoir for power steering fluid in your vehicle, open the hood and look for a cap labeled “Steering.” It’s typically on the passenger side and transparent. You can check the fluid level visually and use a dipstick for further confirmation. If it’s low, pour in high-quality power steering fluid.
Experts typically recommend that you change your power steering fluid every two years or 50,000 miles. You may need to change it sooner if you notice your steering wheel shifting or vibrating.
A/C Refrigerant
A/C refrigerant allows the air in your car to remain cool. If you notice that your vehicle’s A/C system is pumping air but isn’t cold, you may need to top off your refrigerant levels. In most cases, you’ll need to replenish this fluid every one to two years.
Checking the A/C refrigerant level in your vehicle and replenishing it can be an arduous task to do yourself because of the equipment you need, like a Freon charging kit and an A/C gauge. Taking your vehicle to a certified dealership that offers maintenance services is best. Our team at Eskridge Chevrolet can easily handle this task for you, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us today to schedule an appointment.
Radiator Fluid
Radiator fluid is important for regulating the temperature of your engine. It draws heat from the engine and distributes it throughout the radiator and into the outside air. A sufficient radiator fluid level prevents your vehicle from overheating and wards off engine damage. Most vehicle owners should replenish the radiator fluid every 30,000 miles or two years, whichever comes first.

Interior Features of the 2022 Chevrolet Suburban
The Suburban is Chevrolet’s largest SUV, making it the perfect choice for large families or people who require plenty of cargo space. You can configure the Suburban to have a functional cabin with many convenient amenities or opt for a much more luxurious experience with upscale materials and cutting-edge technology. Our experts here at Eskridge Chevrolet have compiled a guide to the Suburban’s interior features for you to explore.
What Is the Chevrolet Suburban?

The 2022 Chevy Suburban is a three-row SUV and the largest utility vehicle in Chevrolet’s lineup. It can hold up to nine passengers and offers a huge rear cargo area.
The Suburban is powered by a V-8 engine in its base setup. You can opt for a six-cylinder turbodiesel if you prioritize better gas mileage or a larger V-8 for maximum power under the hood. With the right equipment, this Chevy can tow over 8,000 pounds.
Passenger and Cabin Capacity
The Suburban’s standard configuration provides seats for eight people, including bench seats in the second and third rows. You can add a middle seat to the front row to boost the Suburban to its maximum capacity of nine.
Alternatively, if you can sacrifice one seat, you’ll add more comfort to the cabin by installing captain’s chairs in the second row, which reduces your SUV’s capacity to seven. Due to the Suburban’s ample size, even the third row of seats offers enough room for adult passengers to ride comfortably.
With a full load of passengers, the Suburban has 41 cubic feet of storage space at the rear. You can fold down the rear row to expand to 93.8 cubic feet, which is more than enough to transport most household items. If you fold down both the second and third rows, you get access to a whopping 144 cubic feet of cargo capacity, which is among the largest cargo areas offered by any SUV.
Suburban Infotainment Features
The Suburban’s base infotainment system is well equipped to keep you and your passengers busy on long and short drives. It features a 10.2-inch screen and a six-speaker stereo. A Wi-Fi hotspot will allow you to stay connected wherever your journey takes you, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide smartphone compatibility.
Even if you’re not using a smartphone, there is no shortage of ways to connect your device to your vehicle’s infotainment screen. The Suburban offers eight USB ports and Bluetooth.
Driver Safety Technology
The Suburban’s interior comes standard with some extremely convenient safety features. You gain access to forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking to help you avoid accidents. Highway drivers will appreciate the lane departure warning with lane keep assist technology, and the automatic high-beam headlights will also come in handy.
If you have a younger family member who is learning to drive, you may want to check out the Teen Driver feature. This technology allows you to impose restrictions on how they use the Suburban. For example, you can limit how loud they can turn up the stereo or put a speed limit restriction in place. If your kids aren’t quite at the age of learning to drive yet, the rear seat alert feature reminds you to check that no children are left behind in the two rear rows before you leave your car.
Optional Features and Trims
Now that you know what the Suburban offers in its base setup, it’s time to learn about the upgrade options available if you select one of the higher trims. The Suburban is sold in six trim levels: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. Since we’ve already explained what you can expect in the base Suburban LS, let’s jump straight to the LT’s offerings.
The first thing you’re likely to notice about the LT’s cabin is that it has a much more upscale feel. It’s fitted with leather upholstery and boasts heated front seats for you to relax in. You’ll also get a hands-free liftgate, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and a nine-speaker stereo.
The biggest difference with the RST trim is its exterior design modifications. It offers unique black leather upholstery with red stitching in the cabin. The Z71 trim is aimed at off-road enthusiasts but still features leather upholstery in the interior so you can enjoy your ride in comfort.
The Premier trim takes interior luxury to the next level. It features ventilated front seats, heated second-row captain’s chairs and steering wheel, and a power-folding third row. The infotainment system gets an upgrade thanks to a 10-speaker sound system. You’ll also benefit from some additional safety tech, including blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control, which can automatically adjust your speed on the highway, is an optional upgrade.
Finally, there is the range-topping High Country trim. It adds a surround-view parking camera, which is sure to come in handy when you’re trying to find a parking space for this big SUV. The camera can help you identify obstacles coming close to your vehicle from any side. Another cool interior feature offered only in the High Country trim is the power-retractable steps for accessing the cabin.
Now that you know a bit more about the great interior features available in Chevy’s largest SUV, we hope you’re ready to drop by and check out the Suburban for yourself. Here at Eskridge Chevrolet in Oklahoma City, we sell a variety of Suburban trims to meet many customers’ needs, whether it’s a more modest Suburban LS, the off-roading champion Z71, or the upscale High Country. Electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrids continue to gain market share. According to the International Energy Agency, an intergovernmental organization within the OECD, over 10 million electric vehicles are now on roads around the world. In the United States, first-quarter sales in 2022 are up more than 60% compared to the previous year. If you’re considering joining the growing number of motorists who’ve made the switch to a greener mode of transportation, you may be wondering what you might gain from the transition. Read on to learn more about the benefits of EVs versus gas-engine vehicles.
Sticker Price

A vehicle’s sticker price is the amount suggested by the manufacturer, plus any destination charges and other markups. Generally speaking, EVs have a higher sticker price than gas-engine vehicles. According to data from 2021, the average transaction price for a new EV was $51,532. In comparison, gas-powered compact cars averaged $22,798 and entry-level luxury vehicles averaged $47,627.
However, these averages are based on widely varying sticker prices for individual models and don’t factor in various tax incentives for going green. Consider, for example, the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt, which has an MSRP of $31,500. In Oklahoma, individuals who purchase a new OEM alternative-fuel vehicle receive a one-time tax credit based on the weight of the model. The Bolt, which has a curb weight of 3,589 pounds, would be eligible for a maximum tax credit of $5,500.
Other EV makes are also eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit. With that in mind, the effective price tag for a new EV in Oklahoma would, in a sense, be comparable to that of a gas-powered compact car.
Also, consider that EVs are becoming more affordable with every year that passes. In 2022 alone, manufacturers such as Chevrolet reduced the prices of their entry-level EV models. As EVs become more prevalent, consumers may be able to expect much lower sticker prices on models across the board.
Fuel
EVs and gas-engine vehicles take different types of fuel, and one is well-known for being more costly than the other. Some numbers show that the average annual cost to charge an EV is $485. In contrast, the average annual cost to fuel a gas-engine vehicle is $1,117. That means that EV owners pay less than half as much to charge their vehicle as they would for gasoline. Also, consider that gasoline prices tend to fluctuate a great deal, depending on market conditions. The cost of electricity is more consistent.
To top things off, EVs today tend to offer tremendous range—the distance they can cover before requiring a charge. The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy reported that the median range for EVs in 2020 exceeded 250 miles, which placed them on par with many gas-powered cars. The maximum EV range, however, was greater than 400 miles, which is far greater than what a gas-engine vehicle can achieve.
Keep in mind that individual fuel costs can vary widely depending on the make and model of your vehicle and whether it’s powered by electricity or by gasoline. The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt is among the leaders, getting 29 kWh per 100 miles, but other EVs may not be as efficient and thus cost a little more to keep charged.
Maintenance
An often-overlooked advantage of EV ownership is the reduced cost of maintenance. Data provided by Consumer Reports shows that maintenance costs for an EV are about half as much as they are for a gas-engine vehicle. There are several reasons for such cost savings. One is that EVs have fewer moving components than their gas-engine counterparts. That leaves less opportunity for operational malfunction and upkeep. There’s no need to change the oil, and there’s nothing under the hood to tune up.
Performance
Another overlooked advantage is the high-end performance of most EVs currently on the market. Because of the operational nature of an electric drivetrain, EVs offer instant torque delivery. That means there’s no lag in acceleration. As soon as you step on the pedal, you’re zooming off. Owing to this characteristic, EVs are typically quick, and many owners find them exhilarating to drive.
Not only that, but the performance is quiet. The main noises you’ll encounter while driving an EV are the sounds of the tires on the road and the wind against the body. The quieter ride, in turn, means more pleasurable conversations with passengers and clearer audio entertainment.
Environmental Impact
If you’re concerned about your carbon footprint, transitioning to an EV can help you make a more positive impact on the environment. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, gas-engine passenger vehicles, on average, produce 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide every year. EVs, however, produce none. Therefore, it would follow that the more market share EVs take, the cleaner the air will be.
Long-Term Ownership
When you factor in the tax incentives, fuel savings, and reduced need for maintenance, long-term ownership of an EV is likely to be more cost-effective compared to a gas-engine vehicle. The above-mentioned Consumer Reports study compared popular EVs with similar gas-engine models and found that long-term ownership of the EVs amounted to savings of $6,000 to $10,000. That being so, you can conclude that it’s cheaper to drive an EV than a gas-engine vehicle.

Best Tow Truck Services in Oklahoma City
If your car ever breaks down on an Oklahoma City highway, there are many reputable companies you can call for a tow. While we hope you never need a tow, it’s a good idea for you to be prepared and know how to handle this situation if it arises. Review this guide to learn more about towing services, costs, and some of the local tow truck companies you can call for help in the Oklahoma City area.
Common Reasons You Might Need a Tow

There are various reasons you may need to call a towing company to move your vehicle. Some of the typical reasons people may need a vehicle tow may include:
- Car accident: If you’re involved in an accidental collision with another vehicle, building, or structure, you may be unable to drive your car from the scene. Damage to your vehicle, such as flat tires, fluid leaks, or loose parts, may require you to have it towed.
- Vehicle won’t start: One of the most common reasons to call a tow truck company is a vehicle breakdown due to issues with the battery, transmission, or engine. You may also need towing services if your car overheats or if you run out of gas.
- Flat tire: You can get a flat tire for reasons like sharp objects in the roadway or standard wear and tear. If you don’t have a spare tire, call a tow truck company for help.
How Much Will You Pay for a Tow?
The cost of towing a car can vary depending on several factors, including tow distance, your vehicle type, or the time your call comes through to the towing company. According to J.D. Power consumer research company, the national average cost of a tow is $109. Most towing companies will charge a base fee to hook up your vehicle and then a fee for every mile traveled. According to J.D. Power, these per-mile fees typically range from $2.50 to $5, and charges may be higher after an accident, during weekends, evenings, or holidays.
Before you ask a driver for a vehicle tow, make sure you ask how much it will cost. In non-emergency situations, you can contact several nearby towing companies to compare costs. It’s also possible that your insurance policy may cover towing expenses, so check with your insurance company if your policy includes roadside assistance.
Available Tow Services
Most towing companies offer additional services, depending on your vehicle and situation. Some of these include:
- Flatbed towing: With this service, a driver uses a flatbed tow truck and a winch to drag your vehicle onto the truck’s bed before securing it with chains. You may require this service if you’ve been involved in an accident. This is one of the most common towing services available.
- Light- or medium-duty towing: A towing company provides this assistance if your car breaks down, the battery goes dead, or you run out of gas. This service typically covers motorcycles or small cars, and commercial vehicles.
- Wheel lift towing: This towing service uses a wheel lift tow truck to lift the front or rear wheels of the vehicle off the ground and tow it to a repair shop. Companies may use this tow service to move smaller cars or two-wheel-drive vehicles.
- Heavy-duty towing: This towing service uses larger vehicles, known as wreckers or rotators, to move heavy vehicles. Wreckers or rotators can handle large trucks, tractor-trailers, or heavy equipment.

Oklahoma Car Seat Laws
Car seat laws refer to regulations relating to the safety of the passengers in a motor vehicle, particularly very young children. Specific laws vary by state. If you’re an Oklahoma resident, it’s essential to understand the laws that apply to you and your loved ones, as well as their importance and associated penalties. In this article, we provide all the information you need to familiarize yourself with these rules of the road in the Sooner State.
What Are the Current Car Seat Laws in Oklahoma?

The current car seat laws in Oklahoma state that children under the age of 8 must be properly secured in a child passenger restraint system that satisfies Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213. This standard identifies multiple varieties of child passenger restraint systems. Those that relate specifically to Oklahoma’s car seat laws are:
- Rear-Facing Car Seat: This type of car seat positions the child so that they face the back of the vehicle. This orientation provides greater support to the head, neck, and spine, which are particularly susceptible to injury in infants and toddlers.
- Forward-Facing Harnessed Car Seat: Here, the car seat allows the child to face the front of the vehicle but features durable straps that secure them across the most rigid areas of the body — namely the shoulders and hips. In the event of a crash, the harnesses keep the child in place and more safely distribute the forces of the impact.
- Booster Seat: This elevates the child passenger to a position that allows them to sit more properly in the vehicle’s installed seating. Rather than employing a harness system, booster seats permit the child to use the vehicle’s seat belts.
The car seats you must use in Oklahoma depend on the age and characteristics of the child passenger. Rear-facing car seats must be used for children aged 0 to 2, or until they outgrow their seat. From there until the age of 4, they must ride in a forward-facing harnessed seat. From 4 to 8 years old, children under 4’9″ may graduate to a booster seat. Once a child reaches the age of 8 or grows taller than 4’9″, they do not need to use a car seat but must wear a seat belt.
In addition to the above, Oklahoma recommends that children always ride in the back seat of the vehicle. There are no age restrictions concerning a child sitting in the front seat, though the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children sit in the back seat until they are at least 13 years of age. Oklahoma also has a mandatory seat belt law dictating that every driver and front-row passenger “must wear a properly adjusted and fastened safety seat belt system,” which helps to ensure the safety of the adult members in the cabin as well.
Keep in mind that child seat laws apply primarily to private passenger vehicles, as livery vehicles such as taxis and buses are exempt. There are some important exceptions for passenger vehicles as well. For example, if a child has a medical condition where they are unable to tolerate a car seat, they may ride free of a restraint system provided that the family can provide written documentation from a doctor.
What Are the Penalties for Breaking Oklahoma Car Seat Laws?
Failure to comply with Oklahoma car seat laws can result in a monetary penalty for the relevant parent or guardian. Should you be convicted of a violation, the court may issue a fine of $50 and payment of all court costs associated with your case. It may opt to suspend the fine and limit your court costs to $15 if it’s your first offense and you can prove that you’ve bought or acquired a child passenger restraint system.
A violation of the car seat laws does not add points to your driving record. Any fines that the court does collect goes toward the Department of Public Safety Restricted Revolving Fund, which the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office uses to educate the public about child passenger restraint systems.
An additional fine may apply if the driver or front-seat passenger is found to be noncompliant with Oklahoma’s mandatory seat belt use law. The fine and court costs for a violation are no greater than $20. Seat belt violations do not add points to your driving record either.
Why Are Car Seat Laws Important?
Car seat laws are important because they help to protect the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of society — children. Indeed, as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports, motor vehicle accidents are one of the leading causes of death to children. Statistics from 2019 show 608 child fatalities in car crashes, with more than 230 of them involving children who weren’t properly secured. Of those fatalities, 68% were under the age of 8. These numbers suggest that a well-secured child passenger has a much higher chance of surviving a motor vehicle accident.
Studies also indicate that adhering to car seat laws decreases the risk of injury to children. Compared to seat belt use alone, placing a child passenger in a restraint system appropriate to their size and age reduces their risk of injury by 71% to 82%. Using a booster seat, meanwhile, reduces the risk of serious injury by 45% for children aged 4 to 8.
Furthermore, car seat laws have been proven to be effective. States that have adopted car seat laws have seen high rates of compliance, resulting in lower rates of fatality among child passengers compared to states without such laws in place. All of this indicates that car seat laws help to create safer conditions for children in motor vehicles.

Best Chevrolet Makes for College Students
Shopping for a new car can be a daunting situation for anyone, but it can be especially overwhelming for college students. Learning about the key features that students can benefit from and which vehicles offer these options can simplify the process and help you find a vehicle you want. Chevrolet has a big lineup of new and used cars of various makes and models that can equip you with what you need, whether you’re staying at the dorms or commuting to class. Let’s look at some of the best Chevrolet makes for college students.
What Do College Students Need in a Chevrolet?
College students need several things when shopping for a car. Money can get tight in college, so any ways to save money are worth exploring. For example, students can set themselves up to save at the pump with a fuel-efficient vehicle. Whether you’re commuting, visiting home on the weekends, or driving your car down for spring break, every cent matters.
Another key factor for college students looking for a Chevrolet could be safety. Many students are new to the road, and both traditional and modern safety features can help keep them safe on the road between classes or semesters. This can be important both for the student’s safety and to help parents feel more comfortable about their child’s well-being.
Finally, college students may be interested in seating and cargo space. A roomy interior can ensure that you have enough space for your roommates or all of the luggage you need to take to college.

Because the Cruze is a compact car, you might go with the hatchback to maximize storage space.

Thinking about what you want out of a car is equally as important. For example, you might want a car that can last you through your 20s.
