Brick-or-Treat

This year is the eighth annual Brick-or-Treat event, hosted by The Bricktown Association. With various locations throughout the district, Brick-or-Treat is a kids costume event, so be sure to dress your little ones up in their favorite costumes before attending. During the event, you can take pictures with one of the many roaming characters, featuring personalities from popular children’s television shows and movies.

This family-friendly event is full of spooky tunes and haunted photo opportunities to help get your family in the Halloween mood. If your family loves candy, be sure to take part in the trick-or-treating going on at the local participating businesses. Anyone in costume under the age of 14 and with a guardian can take part in the trick-or-treating and enter giveaways to win candy and other goodies. To plan your evening, you can pick up a map from the information booth in the Mickey Mantle Plaza.

Guthrie Public Library Halloween Story Time

If you’re a family of readers, the Guthrie Public Library’s Halloween Story Time may be the perfect fall event for you. You can support the local library and take part in fun, spooky events by visiting the Wednesday before Halloween. With snacks, songs, and spooky stories, you can bring your little ones to help get them in the Halloween spirit and work on their reading skills.

Though there will be snacks at the event, you’re welcome to make a Halloween treat with the family and bring it to share with everyone. If the kids like to sing, they can join the chorus of others singing along to spooky Halloween songs. The friendly staff has several fun Halloween books to share with you and help you prepare for the upcoming trick-or-treating weekend.

“History Never Dies” Halloween Carnival

The Oklahoma Territorial Museum is an organization that strives to preserve Oklahoma’s history and heritage. Guthrie was the first state capital, and this museum presents artifacts and information to help visitors and residents alike learn more about the area. This year, the museum wants to treat you and your family to the “History Never Dies” Halloween Carnival.

Make the most of your Halloween costume by wearing it to the carnival and showing it off. This year’s theme is “Hocus Pocus” and features events both inside and outside the museum. Try your hand at some of the carnival games and take part in some of the other Halloween-themed activities. If you’re hungry, grab some of the food and candy at the event.

Downtown Norman Fall Fest

The Downtown Norman Fall Fest celebrates its eighth year this Halloween and plans to bring more family and fall fun than ever before. You can find the event in Historic Downtown Norman the Friday before Halloween. During the fest, your little ones can transform into witches, ghosts, goblins, and their favorite characters. Celebrate the fall season by taking part in the many activities, including performances and arts activities.

This event is a local favorite for both parents and children alike, as kids can feast on free candy and burn off the energy in the moon bounces and other rides. Over 10,000 people plan to attend each year, making it a great place for big families and groups of friends. The best thing about this event is that it can fit right into your budget because all of the activities and performances during the Downtown Normal Fall Fest are completely free — including the trick-or-treating.

OKC Zoo’s Haunt the Zoo

The Oklahoma City Zoo is a great place for families any day of the year, but they bring something special for the Halloween season. OKC Zoo’s Haunt the Zoo is the perfect opportunity for your favorite trick-or-treaters to load up on candy and enjoy the animals within the zoo. To visit, you’ll need admission to the zoo and the official Haunt the Zoo bags to collect candy.

With 20 themed booths, you can take plenty of pictures and create some lasting memories. If you’re a member of the zoo, you can receive discounted entry and special trick-or-treating bags. When the trick-or-treating is done, you can try out the hay maze or pumpkin painting crafts.
